Our Story
Every business has their story, their early beginnings and how they grew to become what they are today. I have always found these to be interesting bits that can really tell you what the company is all about. For us, our story is all about people. It started a few years back, shortly after I graduated college and was talking with a fellow grad about the process of finding jobs. The conversation was saturated with frustration and disappointment about the fact that no true source existed to help college students make the jump from school to work. Sure, there are the goliath job searching and resume posting websites, but they have no defined focus and don’t address a lot of the issues that can really make a recent grad shine amongst their more experienced competition. We heard the rumblings from our peers… we recounted past experiences and conversations… we were left with questions and we set out to answer them.
As a result of our quest to help our fellow classmates and alumni – this Generation Y workforce that we are and we represent – we built a program called discoverED. It is a college career development application that aides learning, understanding and helps place students in meaningful positions that fit their abilities and who they are as a person. It exists to help college students and recent grads to define themselves as one in an ever-growing number of millions. We built the program around the methods and structure of the higher education setting. Job posting and searching is done by a student’s major, not a list of hundreds of narrowly defined jobs descriptions, which helps answer the age old question of, “What can I do with a degree in this major?” This all exists around a communal center where all members of campus come together to combine their knowledge and resources. From start to finish we had a problem for which we created a solution, but our focus never strayed from the people we set out to help.
These are our people and they are key characters in every chapter of our story. We believe in the people we work for, the people who work for us and we love what we do.
Our story will progress as we continue to explore new avenues and develop more applications, but as we grow, we will remain beside the people whose problems need addressing. This is only the beginning of what we hope to be a long and successful story.
Our Mission
Next Development, LLC provides web-based applications that create simplistic solutions to highly complex problems. Measuring success by the efficiency of our products rather than endless lists of useless features makes it possible for us to generate results without noise and clutter.
